Welcome to Hallam Grange Bowling club

Hallam Grange is a private club, forming part of Hallam Grange Lawn Tennis Club, offering social and league bowls for men and women. Friendly matches and club tournaments are organised by the club captain. New members of any age and ability always welcome. Short mat bowls available in the winter

We are located to the West of the City on Slayleigh Lane off Fulwood Road (See Map).

Captain's Day

Captain's Day on Sunday 5th August aimed to raise money for the Mower/Sprayer fund.
It was run as a doubles competition between a 'Captain's (John Turner's) Team' and a 'Vice - Captain's (Stuart Wilson's) Team' for 15 points or 15 ends, whichever happened first, with alternating 'thumb' and 'finger' bias.

The Vice Captains team won by 114 - 107

Watson Trophy

Congratulations to Liz Murray, Trevor Kelly and Colin Best for winning the Watson Trophy on 27 August in the final against Julia Boler, Steve Kendall and John Ferretti.

It was a closely contested final at 10-10 after 11 ends leading to a sudden death extra end with Liz delivering the decisive wood.

Open Finals' Day

Open Finals' Day consisting of The Novice Trophy, The Veteran's Trophy, The Open Doubles and the Open Singles/Hoult Trophy was on Saturday 10 September.

Up Coming Events

The friendly match against the tennis section is on Sunday, September 16th starting at 2.00pm.

More Bowls Participants required - contact John Turner.

The friendly against the rest of the club is on Wednesday September 26th starting at 3.00pm and we need more participants for this match too - contact John Turner.

A fun and fund raising event, will be held on Saturday September 22 starting at 2.00pm. This is an 'In a Yard' event and run by Diana Cameron.
Refreshments will be on sale and the entry fee will be £2.00. This event is open to all members.

The annual Awards Dinner and Presentation Evening will be held in the Hallamshire Golf Club on Saturday 13th October (7.00pm. for 7.30pm).

The menu and booking form is available here and must be returned, with payment, by 1 October.

Green/Garden Maintenance

The final Gardening day this season is on
Tuesday 18th September.

A special mention and thanks go to all you participated in the Sorrel Rolling and Composting this season.
